Whilst the Hollowcore floor/wall slab is the primary element of the SNS
BUILDING SYSTEMS other complementary pre-cast elements are manufactured to
satisfy the market demand 'almost' all types of buildings can be built in
pre-cast concrete technology.
One excellent product is GRC (Glass-fibre Reinforced Cement). GRC's toughness
makes it an ideal material for light-weight cladding and sun screen/shade
applications have been undertaken and completed successfully by the company:
example of which can be seen all over the Kingdom, another 'First' introduced by
SNS BUILDING SYSTEMS to the Saudi Construction Industry in 1977.
In 1981 the company was awarded the contract to produce cladding panels for
the Students Housing scheme at the Imam Saud's Islamic University in Riyadh, at
the time the world's largest GRC project. The continuing success of GRC
attracted export orders for the company; for example all entry and departure
gates and facade panels for a New Terminal building at Arlanda airport near
stockhlom, Sweden, were manufactured and shipped from the company's Riyadh
factory. The external wall panels for the new Head Quarters Building for the
Great Man-made River project in Benghazi, Libya, shipped from Jeddah factory,
was another export success.
