In 1981/82 SNS BUILDING SYSTEMS were contracted by Railcorp (Pakistan's Railway Corporation) to produce 360.000 pre-stressed concrete railway sleepers fot eh new high speed track from Dammam to Riyadh. The sleepers manufactured by SNS BUILDING SYSTEMS are a hybrid system using long line stressing techniques developed in the UK, but the fastenings are those used by the German Railways; another example of the company's versatility in precast concrete technology.
