Further recent developments have greatly enhanced the properties of PMG and
the new material is known as Hypercrete. Due to its intrinsically inert
chemical, plastic and thermal properties, Hypercrete can be utilised in
defence and security applications when combined with various additives and
reinforcements, to afford protection against nuclear, chemical and biological
gas threats, as well as offering blast and ballistics resistance
Electromagnetic screening & Radiation Protection
Hypercrete in a special formulation exhibits very useful radiation
adsorption properties which offers a lighter and more cost-effective alternative
to conventional materials such as lead, for protection applications in Hospital
X-ray rooms or Air-Raid shelters. Suitably modifies it can be used as an
electromagnetic pulse protection material (EMPP) for civil and military
applications.
